What Makes Shweta Subram the New Singing Sensation of India?

The pandemic is over, and the fans are again getting the opportunity to witness their favourite singers and musicians perform on stage. When it comes to popularity one Indian singer who has managed to make it big in recent times is Shweta Subram. So, it’s obvious that organisers in different parts of India as well as many in foreign countries with a hefty Indian population are going nuts to get Shweta Indian singer booking.

If you are a fan of music, you must be familiar with the name Shweta Subram. Her musical journey is quite absorbing and would inspire any aspiring singer looking to enter Bollywood. She spent most of her life outside India. Still, she has managed to establish herself as one of the most sought-after singers in Kollywood and Bollywood.

Shweta’s First Steps

Shweta first caught the attention of music directors in India when she received an award from the Sangam Kala Group. She didn’t need to wait much to get her first official break. This didn’t come as a surprise to her friends and family as they always believed that Shweta has the talent to become a professional singer.

One of the biggest highlights of her career in Bollywood was when she performed with Salim-Sulaiman, at the 2011 edition of IIFA. Her gorgeous voice Shweta’s first notable break in playback, however, came when she got the opportunity to be the co-singer of Ayushmann Khuranna for “Dil-E- Nada”, a song from the 2015 film Hawaizaada. She got praise from all quarters for this song and soon top music directors started knocking on her door.

Her Stint in Western Music

Other than working in Bollywood Shweta has also done her bit to introduce the Western world to Hindi music. The most prominent one of them came through her collab with the American musical group The Piano Guys. She created a soulful Indian version of the immensely popular number ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ and named it “Khushnuma”. Everything about the song was great. She was not only praised for her rendition of the chartbuster but was also loved for her amazing screen presence.

Subram feels that Khushnuma is her biggest contribution and breakthrough so far as a musician. The numbers stand as testimony of this claim of hers. The video has managed to get more than 22 million views on YouTube.

About Jalebi Baby

The Punjabi-English song “Jalebi Baby” is the biggest hit by Subram. This viral song has made her a sensation not just among Indians across the globe but has earned her immense popularity among people of all ethnicities. “Jalebi Baby” became viral on Tik-Tok and various other popular social media platforms. Shweta Subram has lent her voice to the hook in this massive hit. She has joined Hitesh

Sharma (better known as Tesher) as the
female singer of the hook. Jalebi Baby has changed Subram’s life altogether. Prior to the release of this song, she was loved and trusted by music directors and her fans adored her. Following this hit, she has become a true celebrity. She needs to sing a few lines of the song wherever she goes. In fact, she has been rechristened as ‘the Jalebi girl’ or ‘Jalebi Baby’.

According to Subram, life after Jalebi Baby has been incredible. She is ecstatic to receive so much love from audiences around the globe. The singer is extremely proud of the fact that she has successfully got people hooked to her voice through her rendition of the two hook words “Jalebi Baby”. However, she doesn’t shy away from admitting that such a big hit has increased the expectations of her audience immensely and she is already feeling the pressure.

The other thing that is bothering Shweta at the moment is the fear of getting typecast, which is extremely common in this part of the world. She has been receiving multiple offers to sing similar songs over the past few months and has declined the majority of those as she doesn’t want to establish herself as a single-genre singer. Shweta wants to prove her versatility and surprise her fans by singing songs of different styles.

Jalebi Baby was released when the world was still fighting the deadly virus. So, people were either listening to the song sitting in their homes or dancing to it at private parties and small gatherings. However, things changed when the world recovered from the misery and things started to become normal.

Shweta was always a popular stage performer. She has not only performed at Bollywood concerts but has been one of the leading performers at private events like weddings, festivals, and corporate functions. However, the demand for her dates was never as massive as it is today thanks to “Jalebi Baby”. You will need to contact her manager several months before the actual date of the performance to get Shweta Indian singer booking.
